Ambrose Spellman: Netflix's most stylish warlock
Updated: Jun 3, 2020

The new series of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has landed on Netflix and that means the return of the world's best-dressed warlock.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the master of boho chic: Ambrose Spellman.
The once house-bound warlock, played simply brilliantly by British actor Chance Perdomo, spent most of the first series draped around the Spellman house and mortuary dressed in a collection of dressing gowns, smoking jackets, vests and loungewear which brought an unexpected sartorial flair to the show.

I am quite happy to admit that if I was to be working from home, this would be my target aesthetic.
But how do we mere mortals capture the Ambrose look?
First off, the air of witty nonchalance is not something you can buy - or really teach. You've either got it or you haven't.

Next? You are going to need a really good dressing gown. This one is almost style over function. It should be light enough to swish but warm enough that you only need one small layer underneath - the Ambrose aesthetic does not allow for hoodies.

Next up, a scarf. It allows for some warmth and an extra layer of well-measures flamboyance.
They key here is to look like you have just thrown on the comfortable clothes you have lying around - it doesn't have to match on paper, but the idea seems to be one statement item, one accessory and then simple items.
The beauty of house-bound boho cool is that you can literally incorporate anything into the look - shirts, waistcoats, scarves, lounge pants. It all goes.

Step outside though and the dynamic changes.
Once released from the house Ambrose is the peacocking, Puck-esque rockstar we all dream of. He boasts a collection of statement shirts, waistcoats and leather jackets to die for - and that swagger is still there.
