How to respond to a libel threat
Libel threats are very in vogue at the moment.
The esteemed President of the United States is currently the focus of a book whose contents and reliability are being disputed by the upper echelons, which makes this sort of thing a hot news topic.
With that said, I wanted to share this courtesy of the truly wonderful Letters of Note.
It is the reply sent by satiric magazine Private Eye to a libel threat and it is wonderful. (Apologies for the language).

Disclaimer: This is not how I suggest responding to every (or indeed any) libel or defamation claim. But, where appropriate, it is funny. In real circumstances seek legal advice. Obviously.
