The new Captain Marvel trailer just dropped
With all the excitement in the world at the moment, this seems to have got missed.
In the early hours of this morning, UK time, Marvel released its second Captain Marvel trailer. This gives us another look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe's uber-goody, who is set to play a huge role in the fourth Avengers movie next summer.
For anyone who has forgotten, the third Avengers film - Avengers: Infinity War - ended with half the universe being wiped out at the snap of Thanos' finger after the mad Titan got all the Infinity Stones into the Infinity Gauntlet. Moments before he dissipated, Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury sent a pager message; that message brought up Captain Marvel's symbol.
Captain Marvel, or Carol Danvers, is a human-Kree hybrid superhero who is basically the Marvel universe's answer to Superman. Her solo film outing will be released before the fourth Avengers film, so we'll know all about her when she rides in to save the day.
This new trailer lifts the lid a bit on what we can expect. It seems that Marvel will start out only identifying with her Kree-superhero self and with little memory of her human past.
It is an interesting twist on the traditional origin story; I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when an all-powerful being discovers they are human, rather than the other way round.
This trailer offers a nice mix of action, pathos and the humour we have come to expect from the MCU and I have to say I am looking forward to it.What did you think of the new trailer? Let me know below.
