Non Gender Specific: The skincare solution
Updated: Jan 10, 2020

How many of you put taking better care of your skin on your New Year Resolutions list? Show of hands.
I’m guessing a fair few. And how many of you are now wondering how to go about it?
I feel you. I’ve been there. So let me offer a helping hand with a new brand I stumbled across at an event in Cannes late last year who might just offer the help you need.
Doing away with the ridiculous gender questions around skincare, Non Gender Specific (as the name suggests) looks to create products which from the bottle to the scent are not aimed as anyone in particular but fit everyone.
The brand was created by Andrew Glass, who boasts a decade and a half in the skincare and cosmetics business and wanted to change the way things are being done. Each of the products is vegan, cruelty-free and multi-functional.
“I wanted to generate a brand that had no gender boundaries and a brand which celebrated what all of us have in common versus what all of us have different,” he explains.
For Glass, sustainability is also an important factor in his life and his brand. So, not only is every bottle recyclable and every box made from recyclable material, but the box for Flooid, the brand’s fragrance – and a personal favourite of mine – contains wildflower seeds, so you can tear it up and plant it when you’re done.
I have been itching to try out these products since getting my hands on them and will let you know the results as soon as I do. I can tell you the Flooid scent is a beautiful and unobtrusive addition to any fragrance collection. It is perfect for travelling with as it does anything.
Anyway, on to business. Here is what Non Gender Specific has to offer you.
The Everything Serum

The brand’s debut product sold 400,000 pieces in its first year and got onto the radar of the folks at Vogue. It blends 17 ingredients to tackle everything from wrinkles to pore size. In order to make it more gender fluid, Glass says they made it thicker and easier to manipulate as apparently we guys don’t like messy, oily face products.
The Everything Cleanser

Drag Queen tested and approved – apparently! Perfect for removing make-up, addressing skincare and cleansing issues such as acne and clarifying as it goes.
The Everything Deodorant

A mix of CBD, charcoal, sage and pine bark, it aims to calm irritation and keep you fresh.
Flooid

The aforementioned fragrance features top notes of citrus, orange and grapefruit and a base of warm cedarwood and pine.
Have you tried Non Gender Specific? Let me know what you thought.
