Toy Story 4 is coming
Toy Story is coming back.
I'm pretty sure that sentence will be enough to send a shiver of excitement through anyone under the age of about 40. Like many of you, I grew up with Buzz, Woody and co. I watched them battle Sid, become friends, escape from the Toy Barn, outwit Lots o' Huggin - and I nearly cried as they all held hands and slipped towards the furnace.
I'll be honest, I thought I had seen the last of them when they sat with Andy's neighbour as he headed off to college - but apparently I was wrong.
This first-look doesn't offer us much to work with apart from a look at one new face, the aptly-named Forky. Here is the synopsis from Disney...
Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called Forky to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.
It looks like there is more self-discovery, adventure and mayhem on the horizon for our favourite playthings. Toy Story has always done a great job of entertaining adults and kids alike - I was 8 when the first one came out and 23 when the last one came out in 2010 - so I can't wait.
PS Did you know Joss Whedon wrote the screenplay for the original film? I didn't.
